Every year First Baptist Church  in the town of Burnet does a recreation/reenactment of the Bethlehem during the time of Christ's birth. Some friends from our church invited us to go this year. I have say we were well impressed. At the blacksmith's shop with real fire. In the synagogue Jean in the market Real, live camels! For the first Main Street Bethlehem events they used sheets painted to look like stone walls for the structures. Over the years they've built out a city block with real stone.

Christmas Eve after getting washed up from shed building. Dad gets a Sarah Palin choke doll Jean gets a rubbish bin Santa Claus delivering the presents A board game about travel blogging. Jean should be good at that one. The instruction reading portion of the evening Christmas day it got up to a balmy 70°. With ladder golf, volleyball, badminton and disc golf we had plenty of outdoor entertainment. Getting organized for White Elephant Aunt Serena gets a window Joey gets a purse. Steve gets a fancy new hat. And Paul gets a redneck Christmas tree.

Once a year on the first weekend of December we celebrate all things Buda like... The rail road! If it weren't for the rail road Buda would have never come into being. Parades! Mobile Polka bands! Cute dogs! Old cars! Small ponies! Longhorn hood ornaments! Carnival rides! Piggy back rides! Turkey legs! Straw bales! Shopping with Mother-in-laws! Playing on the rail road tracks!
